Chippenham Dental Hygenists
Gum (periodontal) disease is the biggest cause of tooth loss. But regular visits with a hygienist can play a vital role in the prevention of tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath.
If left untreated, gum disease can result in the loss of the tooth’s foundations which can ultimately lead to becoming “long in the tooth” (not age related), and wobbly teeth.
Gum disease has been linked to general health problems such as heart disease and diabetes.
Hygiene therapy is crucial in modern dentistry especially as we are now keeping our teeth longer – we have a two way partnership, working together.
